LCV Choir Jams
A vibrant singing community
In addition to our professional choirs, we offer LCV Choir Jams - a friendly and supportive group who sing for the love of music, but who also want to perform at a high standard.
Membership includes excellent amateur and aspiring-professional singers, plus some professional singers who want to sing for fun.
An auditioned group, singers come from a wide range of musical backgrounds and lived experiences.
A place for original material to be tested, shared and performed.
We provide skills development and performance experience for those looking to take their singing further - a gateway to joining our professional singer pool.
Original, varied and carefully-curated a cappella repertoire.
A place for socialising, wellbeing and making friends.
LCV Choir Jams is available to perform at charity and community events.
Future rehearsals and applying to join
Where and when?
We rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 7.15pm - 9.30pm in Angel, north London. Our terms usually run for 10 weeks, and we require regular rehearsal attendance.
Interested in joining?
If you are interested in applying to join the weekly choir please email choirjams@lcvchoir.co.uk. In order to be considered for the next round of auditions, please send a linked recording of yourself singing and a bit about yourself, including your voice part.
We are particularly interested in hearing from any Bass singers.
Repertoire
We cover a very wide range of music. We lean towards pop and alternative music from the last decade, and occasional nostalgic throwbacks. Reference artists include Billie Eilish, Regina Spektor, Amber Run, Sara Bareilles, Florence + The Machine, Hozier and Joni Mitchell.
Background to the project
LCV Choir Jams started in November 2023 as a monthly social singing sessions as the London Contemporary Voices wider community emerged from post-Covid hibernation. As the monthly sessions progressed, it became clear that many singers were keen to reboot a weekly choir culminating in a termly concert.
Now a 60-strong choir of auditioned singers, the choir brings together a broad range of excellent singers from those who sing for the love it, to those working professionally in the space who desire a weekly gathering. The effect is a tight-knit, ambitious group of great people who sing to a high standard but always with joy and togetherness at the centre of it.
The choir is currently co-led by MDs Rosi Croom and Meg Brookes.
If you would like to audition for the choir, email them on choirjams@lcvchoir.co.uk. In order to be considered for the next round of auditions, please send a linked recording of yourself singing and a bit about yourself, including your voice part.'

About conductor David Corck-Adelman
David's love of music and singing started from an early age, and he was an enthusiastic member of various choirs and orchestras as part of the Redbridge Music School. At the University of Southampton, David first joined the Symphonic Wind Orchestra before later joining Jazzmanix, the university pop and gospel choir, where he first gained experience of leading a choir. At its peak, the Jazzmanix choir that David led had over 100 members, and performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, and the Vienne Jazz Festival, as well as several successful performances at the Turner Sims concert hall in Southampton.
David Corck-Adelman, LCV Choir Jams Leader
David then moved back to London and after leading a Marylebone-based community choir for several years, he joined London Contemporary Voices in 2014 as a singer. In autumn 2014, LCV created a second choir due to the amazing number of singers keen to join, and in January 2015 David was appointed as the Musical Director of this new group of singers. Working closely with LCV's founders, under his musical direction the group, initially known as LCV Kin Choir, went from strength to strength, giving high quality and energetic performances at venues such as Union Chapel, Oval Space, the Laundry, the Round Chapel in Hackney, as well as several festivals both in the UK and abroad.
“I’m incredibly proud to lead the LCV Choir Jams project, and feel honoured to work with such a talented group of human beings. It’s a really really enjoyable time!”
