LONDON CONTEMPORARY VOICES
Highlights
For 15 years LCV has been redefining what a choir can be. We have created spectacular and award-winning projects, through innovative use of technology and collaboration (championed by LCV Co-Founder Ilā Kamalagharan) and by re-thinking the live performance environment (championed by LCV Co-Founder Didier Rochard).
From folk sessions in sunflower fields to blindfolded concerts, dazzling light shows, immersive binaural recordings, world-class collaborations, and now the pioneering use of quantum technology, LCV continues to evolve in bold and unexpected ways.
Today, we stand as one of the world’s most visionary and forward-thinking choirs.
Three BBC Proms at Royal Albert Hall
With Florence + The Machine & The Jules Buckley Orchestra, 2024
Broadcast on BBC2 & BBC Radio 3
The Guardian praised the concert as “one crescendo of ecstasy after another,” highlighting Jules Buckley’s orchestral arrangements and Florence Welch’s striking, emotionally charged vocals.
The Times called it a “triumphant Proms debut,” commending Welch’s theatrics, the emotional delivery, and how the orchestration enhanced rather than overwhelmed the songs.
Vogue described the performance as a dazzling reimagining of Lungs, celebrating Welch’s presence and the grandeur of bringing her debut album to life with a full orchestra.

With Public Service Broadcasting & The Heritage Orchestra, 2022
Broadcast on BBC Four & BBC Radio 3.
Positive reviews highlighted its ambition and scale, celebrating the BBC’s centenary with a powerful mix of archive recordings, samples, and full orchestral arrangements.
Critics praised the sweeping atmosphere, strong musicianship, and theatrical staging, noting moments of real emotional impact — especially the finale. The work was seen as a fitting, resonant tribute that combined concept, history, and performance into something both grand and compelling.
With The Heritage Orchestra and Jarvis Cocker, John Grant, Richard Hawley & Susanne Sundfør, 2017
Broadcast on BBC Four, BBC Radio 3 & BBC 6 Music
Critics praised the lush orchestral and choral arrangements, calling them faithful to the original albums while still powerful live. Reviewers admired the way the concert captured the theatrical grandeur of Walker’s music.
